About me

I have over twenty years of experience, in both my roles as a counsellor and as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Sexual and Reproductive Health.

As a counsellor, I work with the person not ‘the problem’ and pride myself on being a competent therapist having achieved positive outcomes with men, women, young people and couples.

I enjoy seeing couples because I understand the extent to which relationships shape us.

They are a central part of our lives and we know that the happier our relationships are the happier we feel.

It is daunting to think you could be sharing what goes on behind closed doors with a stranger, but the non-judgemental and neutral space in which to confidently air any issues can make huge improvements to both of your lives.

My experience as a clinical nurse specialist enables me to work with you on issues that may or may not have a physical origin. Experience has shown me that physical issues often present psychologically and my background allows me to work with you on the full picture of your issue. In addition, my clinical role is particularly beneficial to clients experiencing physical problems since I have the capacity to arrange appropriate referrals when necessary.

Whatever reason you come for counselling whether you come alone or as part of a couple, know that you are embarking on an important journey with a counsellor who appreciates the difficulty in talking about sensitive, personal and intimate topics.

It is perfectly normal to find the first session scary, especially if it is the first time you have spoken to someone, be it about a sexual problem or not.

Rest assured that the first session is there to put you at ease, for me to assess whether I can help you and for you to decide if you feel comfortable going forward with me.

It marks the start a courageous process and I encourage all my clients to recognise the strength it takes just to explore the possibility of counselling.

I work with:

  • Young people ( over 16 years of age )
  • Individuals
  • Couples
  • All sexual orientations ethnicities, religions and genders.
